What is the difference between Famous and Popular?

Famous: A well-known person by achievements or works, but not everyone necessarily likes the person.

Example:

He is a famous actress. But I don’t like his works.

Popular: A well-liked person and generally accepted among people, or a well-liked place that many people visit.

Example:

This restaurant is popular with Italian food.
