Plural nouns

We gathered in this lesson all the using rules in plural nouns, in addition to the exceptional cases in the English language.

3- If a noun ends with the letter (y) and there is no vowel before it (a - e - i - o - u), we replace it with the letters (ies). And if a noun ends with the letter (y) and there is a vowel before it, we add only the letter (s).

Note: We may sometimes come across the word (fishes) in a sentence. In this case, it means the kinds of fish in the sea (such as sharks and whales), not the number of fish.
